The New England Equine Medical & Surgical Center is a private veterinary referral hospital and practice. The extraordinary talent, compassion and dedication of our doctors and staff bring the highest quality diagnostic and therapeutic care of horses to the New England region and beyond.

The state-of-the-art facility known as New England Equine is conveniently located in Dover, NH, just off a major highway. This facility houses a wide variety of services under one roof.

Our specialized experience in surgery, internal medicine, lameness and sports medicine, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, physical therapy and a variety of other areas of expertise provides our clients with not only the most comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, but also the most efficacious treatment options available.

Field Services and 24/7 Hospital

In addition to being available 24 hours/7 days
a week at the hospital in Dover NH, we are also
providing farm call services to NH, southern ME
and northeastern MA. Cases are seen in hospital and now are also being seen in the field.
When you call New England Equine, you get the
time, attention and experience of eight equine
veterinarians and a great support staff as well!

Call us! We gladly provide these services to you (our clients) and to the many referring veterinarians in the region on a 24 hour-per-day, 7 day-per-week basis as appropriate to a full service referral hospital.

NEEMSC COVID-19 Patient and Client Care Update

At NEEMSC we are staying current with the COVID-19 developments and have developed policies and procedures to keep our clients, staff and veterinarians safe while continuing to care for our patients.

We will continue to schedule appointments and see patients during this time, although we are limiting the schedule to avoid multiple cases simultaneously. The situation is ever changing and as such we will adjust our policies accordingly.

Here is what we are doing at NEEMSC to help reduce the risk and slow the spread of COVID-19:


ON THE FARM:

Please only have one person present for the appointment. Please respect social distancing as much as possible. IF YOU ARE SICK, please find someone else to be there for you. If you cannot find a replacement and it is an emergency, please contact us by phone and we will handle the emergency in your absence and then discuss our findings with you over the phone.

AT THE CLINIC:

IF YOU ARE SICK, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE HOSPITAL IN PERSON. Call us at 1-603-749-9111 and we will help arrange alternatives to assist you with your veterinary related needs.

FOR APPOINTMENTS AND EMERGENCIES:

Please remain in your vehicle and call 1-603-749-9111. A member of the NEEMSC team will meet you at your vehicle and assist your horse into the building. Only one person is allowed to accompany each appointment, however we also highly recommend that you stay in your vehicle and we discuss findings over the phone or remotely. Payment can also be done over the phone during this time.
To further minimize staff contact/exposure, we will be switching phones over to emergency status by 4pm; however, you still can contact staff and/or a veterinarian via the normal number.


FOR PRESCRIPTION DRUG PICKUP:

Please call 1-603-749-9111 and let us know when you will be picking up your medication. We will either bring the medication out to your vehicle or leave it in the designated drop box.

PATIENT VISITATION:

If you have a horse at the clinic, we ask that you call ahead to schedule a visitation time. We are limiting visitations to one person, per patient and for 30 minutes maximum. This will help us reduce the number of people in the hospital. After hours phone number is 1-603-834-0617.
